Go Bus Transport Redevelopment

Year of Completion: 2025

Construction Cost: $3,000,000 approx.

Brief description:

Flanders Marlow Limited provided project management and quantity surveying services for the staged redevelopment of the former Placemakers building into a modern transport depot for Go Bus Transport.

The first stage comprised the enabling works, followed by the redevelopment of the existing building into a fully operational bus workshop. Our role encompassed oversight of the enabling works, procurement and contract management, construction delivery, and final account resolution.

With a project budget of approximately $3 million, the works were delivered in phases to maintain the functionality of Go Bus operations throughout construction. Key challenges included managing a live site with operational buses, coordinating complex traffic management on a multi-lane arterial road, and addressing unforeseen inground and structural complexities.

Through regular stakeholder communication, flexible programming, and close collaboration with the territorial authority, the project team ensured health and safety, compliance, and continuity of operations were maintained throughout.

Working closely with McAuliffe Stevens Architects and the consultant team, Flanders Marlow successfully guided the project from detailed design through to completion, transforming the existing commercial structure into a purpose-built, operational facility meeting all current compliance and performance requirements.
